Ibanez (Hoshino Gakki Co.,LTD.)
The company Hoshino was founded in 1908 by Matsujiro Hoshino as a bookstore with sheet music. The import of musical instruments began gradually. On the guitar brand Ibáñez, it was imported by the Spanish guitar workshop Salvador Ibáñez in 1929. At the end of 1933 the company of Telesforo Julve was bought and produced guitars under the name "Salvador Ibáñez é Hijos".
Shortly thereafter Hoshino began to produce stringed instruments in Nagoya in 1935 under the name of Ibanez Salvador. A shortening of the name to Ibanez later followed.
In 1962 the grandson of the founder, Junpei Hoshino, opened the plant Tama Seisakusho. There, electric guitars (replicas of well-known brands), amplifiers and drums were produced. From 1966 onwards only drums, guitars were sold to contract partners like Fujigen.
